They will compete or exhibition in 3-4 meets as Acro and Tumbling and as Trampoline and Tumbling. The first year, they may compete DOUBLE MINI trampolining but only if Tumbling skills are attained and satisfactory for competition. Acro and Tumbling will be team competitions and Trampoline and Tumbling competitions will be mostly individual competition but does have some team aspects as well still based on individual skills.

What is Acro and Tumbling?

Acrobatics & Tumbling (A&T) is a discipline of USA Gymnastics. The National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association (NCATA) is the governing body of collegiate A&T. Acrobatics & Tumbling is the evolution of different forms of gymnastics. The sport involves tumbling, tosses, acrobatic lifts and pyramids. Competitors in this sport demonstrate significant strength, power, flexibility, and balance in their skill set. The group competes as a team on all of the skills and then performs a routine to music with everything tied together.

What is Trampoline and Tumbling?

The gymnastics discipline of trampoline & tumbling, often referred to as T&T, includes competition in trampoline, syncronized trampoline, double mini trampoline and tumbling. Both girls and boys can compete. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT GAC WILL ONLY COMPETE TUMBLING AND AND ONLY DOUBLE MINI ONCE POWER TUMBLING SKILLS ARE ESTABLISED.

Definitions:

Power Tumbling: Power tumbling is performed on elevated spring runways that help tumblers propel themsleves as they demostrate speed, strength and skill while executing a series of acrobatic maneuvers. Top level contenders perform explosive somersaults with multiple flips or twists.

Double Mini Trampoline: This event combines the horizontal run of tumbling with the vertical rebound of trampoline. After a short run, the athlete jumps onto a small two level trampoline to perform a rebounding trick immediately followed by a dismount element onto a landing mat. Double mini is a similar concept to spring board diving, using a mat instead of water.

Whatever the event, you're sure to see numerous high-flying skills which include multiple flips and twists combined into one routine. While the skills are on a much more basic level, participation at the beginning can be thrilling and exciting. Bouncing high, learning body control, and developing spatial awareness are all adventures of the sport. It can be a well suited activity for children and teenagers of any shape and size, coordination and fitness level.
